Things we didn't do so traditionally this CNY

Chinese New Year is a big thing every year for every chinese in the world.

In Malaysia, and if you're a christian chinese, you don't gamble or pai nian. We gather at someone's house to spend time.

But we do share the common practices with the other chinese :D
Ang Pao (money time!), new clothes (reason to waste more money), be lazy and go on holidays, and practically a valid reason to add on weight. (with all the meals you must go)

Things my family decided to do this year differently:

1. GO CYCLING

It shall be a good practice. What better way to start CNY other than to do exercise?
My cousin Sophia completed her one year quota ( I hope she is kidding). Butts hurts like mad after that.

We rented the bikes at RM 10 each for the first hour. Subsequent hours were additional RM 1. There were two shops renting bikes at Bukit Cahaya (or Taman Botani Shah Alam), the other one was cheaper by half! but the bikes were not mountain bikes so we rented from the one on muddy grounds.

Next year, it was decided to go Sky Track. ( I am afraid of heights but YOLO)

2. CHALLENGING OUR MINDS
After an exhausting physical workout, we decided to challenge our mental states as well.

So we went to "ESCAPE ROOM". Quite heng now. So a group of us just select a room. We selected "The abandoned factory" (3 star difficulty rating). All 8 of us went in the room, had to solve puzzles to unlock more clues which led to our escape . WE ALMOST HAD IT!!! It caught us at the last moment and we were stuck so we shall quietly oblige and call ourselves the "LOSERS"

We shall go back for vengeance, for sure. (determined!!)

3. DUTCHING MEALS

So by now, the younger generation has already begun working. Our budgets are bigger, and thankfully, my father's side bloodline are in general, with bigger hearts. We take turns to surprise each other and pay for the meals and stuff.

That's great but we also learnt how pain it is, so we go by dutch for meals now.

Us saying "kepong" at one of the meals. (except for the two fair ladies)

4. HI TEAS

A plus-point for celebrating CNY in the city, is that we get to enjoy more variety of food. After a really tiring day of shopping, (my S Health measure that I walked 11, 000 steps that day) we shall ber sitting-sitting and have stuff to munch.

The Apartment's strawberry crepe cake for RM 15.90

The chocolate pudding and ice cream for RM 18.90  (that was slightly burnt underneath, but the chocolate syrup was lovely)

And Malones's sausages and mash. It was really so-so

5. VISIT FOR SCENIC PLACES

We got really lucky, one of the nights we were just walking around at Setia Walk, Puchong, for convenience sake. But we found out that Level 4, Grand Shanghai Food Court was lovely!

Yes, I sometimes play dictator with my sister.

This spot is actually really lovely..

I haven't had enough of bike rides..

The streets were given so much detailing. It was love!

There were even two vintage cars by the "road"

Looks like a london icon was there too..

Really love that place! You could rent costumes and walk down that place. I saw that they charge RM 20 for the costume and you'd get a polaroid as well. I want to wear the victorian dress down that aisle.

I shall be back!

Happy CNY to all of you lovely people.
