Feeding milk to le moo moo

Mooooooooo and baaaaaaa greets you from the "Alps" of Mount Kinabalu.
It's pretty cheap to feed them!

Bottle of milk (X1) would cost you RM 1.50
Grass  (X1) would cost you RM 1.00

Le Menu for the baby animals feeding

I got myself one of each!!

Armed with foodie for the babies!

Here's Billy the Goat.....

And the cutesy little group of moos waiting for you eagerly...

THEY CAN REALLY EAT!!

Hi there T046!

FEED ME ALREADY!

Excited me and the greedy baby calf
(Google's Auto-awesome's artwork :P)

Did I mention the view up here is lovely? Welcome to the New Zealand of Malaysia!
The smell in the air might not be as pleasant to some but hey, look at all the greens..

This part here looks like a scene from "The Sound of Music"

On the way to the baby animals feeding shelter
So I decided to make friends here with Billy

Loving the backdrop! That's Mount Kinabalu by the way
So if you are at KK and you are wondering what else is there to do here? On your way to the Mount Kinabalu Reserve Park, you can go feed em cows and goats.

Here's their address :
P O Box 71 Kundasang Ranau Sabah (Jalan Mesilau), 89308 Kundasangsabah

And here's their location on google map

The view on the way up to the farm

Entrance signage would look like this:
Cow looks confused on the signage
The place opens from 8am to 5pm
Entrance fee to the farm :
RM 4/per adult
RM 3/per child

*ps, a 4 wheel drive might be a better pleasant option to go up here as the roads are quite challenging.

After the signage, the road on the left will lead to the farm. Cabins development WIP on the right.

Oh look!

MOO MOOS!!

In case if your puzzled where to walk, once you parked you need to look for a small signage that says hints to feed the calves, and then you follow the signage AWAY from the commercial area selling products made from milk. (it is a disappointing experience, one would hope for yoghurt or ice creams or milk products but a lot of the items on the menu are not in stock. DISAPPOINTING)

I had plain yoghurt and it was ... not up to standard. (though the mix blend of chocolate and vanilla was alright)
I was happy before I ate it...

And then you walk along the green prairie after you walk past this "disinfect" barrier.

Loving my new shades and bag from Bangkok Trip!

Try coming here in the early morning, you will see the top of Mount Kinabalu view.
Apparently everyday at 2:30pm to 4:30pm, they have the milking process. I didn't stay long enough to witness it though.
On 10am to 1pm (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), there will be raw milk processing.

The weather is really nice and chilly, for mountain lovers, I think you can just stare into the prairies and just laze around for quite a bit.

On your way out, please exit on the left.
( I like how the road splits with the signage that says "exit" )

More of the "un-Malaysian" views of the farm

Have you ever seen the top of Mount Kinabalu? It is majestic, i repeat majestic. When you look at you, you have to imagine that this is one of the richest biologically diverse spot in the world.

From wikipedia," Significantly, Mount Kinabalu along with other upland areas of the Crocker Range is well-known worldwide for its tremendous botanical and biological species biodiversity with plants of HimalayanAustralasian, and Indomalayanorigin. A recent botanical survey of the mountain estimated a staggering 5,000 to 6,000 plant species (excluding mosses and liverworts but including ferns),[3][8][9][10][11][12] which is more than all of Europe and North America (excluding tropical regions of Mexico) combined. It is therefore one of the world's most important biological sites."

This would be an awesome view to wake up to in the mornings.

Mount Kinabalu in it's glory
